On November 30, 2016, the Board of Directors of the Institute of Policy and Management has had a visit to the Cuban embassy at 36 Ly Thuong Kiet to sign a book of condolences for the late Cuban president Fidel Castro, who died on November 25 (aged 90).
To express condolences and gratitude to the revolutionary leader of Cuba – a close friend, a comrade, and a brother of the people in Vietnam for the last 50 years, Prof. Nguyen Van Khanh – Director of IPAM, Assoc. Prof. Dao Thanh Truong – Vice Director of IPAM and Prof. Pham Quang Minh – Rector of USSH visited the Cuban embassy after hearing the announcement.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have declared December 4 a national day of mourning for Fidel Castro. Half-mast flags will be flying at all government agencies nationwide and Vietnam’s representative offices abroad. During the national mourning day, all entertainment activities will also be suspended.
