Science and education policy of Vietnam in the international integration trend

On 22/12, Institute of Policy and Management of VNU-University of Social Sciences and Humanities collaborated with Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS SEA) to organize the Conference of International Science themed "Science and Education Policy of Vietnam in international integration trend"

There are Representatives of Central Agencies, Ministries and the Diplomatic Delegations that attended the conference.

With more than 30 presentations of scientists in the country and internationally, there are 12 selected reports which presented at the second session, the discussion analyzed of a broad topic is the policy and role of science and technology, education and training in the international integration trend of Vietnam.

This conference will be an opportunity for managers, scholars in the country and internationally to present their research, to listen and exchange experiences on topics of mutual interest.

The speeches were appreciated at the conference were: Identify the philosophies, perspective in science and education policy of Vietnam before and during the renovation period; Achievements and constraints in implementing the science policy in Vietnam today;

Achievements and constraints in implementing the education policy in Vietnam today; Opportunities and challenges in planning and implementation the science and education policy in Vietnam in the context of integration; Philosophy and orientation of science development in the context of international integration.

Many issues are particularly important such as: Education development philosophy oriented to  comprehensive innovation in the context of international integration; International experience in converting science and education policy in the context of globalization;

The role of science and technology institutions in the process of converting science policies in Vietnam: current situation and solutions;The role of science and education in promoting the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam; The role of science in innovation and promotion the development of education.

Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Dean of Management Science Faculty, Vice Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (VNU-University of Social Sciences and Humanities) - highlighted the weaknesses and existed problems and proposed some solutions for science, technology and innovation in Vietnam in the context of international integration. He also proposed to reset the relationship between the training - research – production to effect the role of the parties and pay attention to the issue of international integration.

After the opening session, participants listened and discussed the reports at the second session.
