§ 1. Objectives of the project
General objectives
(1) Continuing to empower and energize young female students to increase their participation, contribution, and success, as well as to pave the way for women's social empowerment in Vietnam, particularly on the SET topic.
(2) Creating a systematic framework of indicators that can assist local governments in evaluating the impacts of current policies on sustainable development, as well as collecting new data about community development in the context of SET.

Project objectives

• Improving young females' knowledge and skills in social-ecological development and feminism, to help them realize their potential for feminism in SET-related research, communication, and community development activities.
• Expand the SETY network of young female students to contribute to a better SET and sustainable development action and lifestyle among the Vietnamese young generation.
• Identify gaps in community development associated with challenges in the context of socio-ecological transformation, resulting in the development of an indicator system capable of monitoring and evaluating the community's sustainable development goals.

 
§ 2. Scope of work
IPAM is looking for one translator to manage the translation of all related documents of the project (English to Vietnamese and Vietnamese to English). The detail task is as below:

• Be responsible for the translation of documents (English – Vietnamese and Vietnamese – English) of the whole project: “Social-Ecological Transformation and Application in Vietnam – the year 2023” including website contents, a program book, a training material and a newsletter.
• Work closely with the project coordinator to understand the scope and timeline of the project;
• Read through material in the original language (English or Vietnamese), ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into the second language (English or Vietnamese), making sure to preserve the original meaning;
• Consult with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialised concepts e.g. technical terms and terminology in SET and policy field and translate them appropriately
• Refers to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation; Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used;
• Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms used for legal and policy book;
• All texts, including texts contained in figures, boxes, captions, sources and covers requires translation and proofreading;
• Ensure high quality and accuracy of the entire document before submitting it to the project coordinator; Ensure accuracy of the terms and terminology used in the documents; Ensure that the translation is written with style, correct grammar and spelling
• Provide quotations for translation offered;
• Follow various translation-quality standards to ensure legal and ethical obligations;
• Incorporate suggested changes to the translation (up to one time revision)
• Complete and submit the final translation within the agreed deadline.

 
§ 3. Requirement

• Must be fluent in at least two languages (English and Vietnamese)
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have prior experience doing translations (at least 3 years)
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

 
 
§ 4. Duration of the activity: From July 2023 to November 2023
 
§ 5 Status and miscellaneous

1. The Institute of Policy and Managementshall not be responsible for any payment of any kind of insurance for the Contractor. Social welfare contributions shall be borne by the Contractor.
2. The Institute of Policy and Management is not liable for any illness/damages incurred by the Contractor during the activity.

§ 6. Submission
A competitive supplier/ applicant will be offered to provide service based on their qualifications and experiences. IPAM would like to invite interested suppliers to submit the following:

• Certificates of being authorized agency (if company)
• CV of applicant (if individual)
• Detailed quotation as in Annex 1
• Sample or references of past similar work (at least 01)
